We have found a new product, to us at least, that takes their environmental footprint seriously when it comes to producing countertops and flooring.
EnviroSLAB Terrazzo is a product made from 100% recycled glass and mixed with Porcelain and custom colored epoxy resin to form a very durable surface similar to Solid Surface and Engineered Stone.
It has a wide range of uses, most particularly as a countertop surface for kitchens and bathrooms. It is also used for flooring as EnviroTRAZ and EnviroPLANK. Two beautiful flooring options using the same construction principles and environmental standards. There is also a new product line using exclusively 100% recycled porcelain from sinks, bathtubs and toilets for surfaces as well and it is called EnviroMODE.
The Cost of EnviroSLAB Kitchen Countertops
EnviroSLAB terrazzo is comparable to most solid surfaces in regards to cost, but these prices will vary form distributor to distributor. Expect to spend approximately between $50-$80 per square foot for EnviroSLAB surfaces and $35 per square foot for installation. Well worth the price form an earth friendly perspective.
Color & Design opportunities with EnviroSLAB Countertops
Design possibilities are endless because of the way EnviroSLAB is manufactured thanks to their custom color epoxy resin. EnviroGLAS, The manufacturer, has hundreds of color and design options available and will customize a design to suit your specifications. All you need to do is decide on an EnviroRESIN Color, an EnviroSCAPE aggregate color and size mix and finally whether you would like high gloss or a matte finish and they will create the perfect countertop for you.
Construction & Installation of EnviroSLAB Countertops
EnviroSLAB is manufactured in a Standard nominal size (27" x 84" x 1") Slab from either 100% recycled glass or porcelain and mixed with VOC negligible epoxy resins. It is manufactured in Plano, Texas by Enviroglasproducts.
Installation can be difficult and it is highly recommended that you discuss EnviroSLAB terrazzo installation with your distributor unless you are proficient in installing countertop surfaces.

Durability of EnviroSLAB Kitchen Countertops
In regards to durability, EnviroSLAB is considered very durable. It is as strong as solid surface countertops as they both share similar manufacturing techniques. EnviroSLAB does not need to be sealed over time and can last a life time if cared for properly. As with any countertop, be wary of sharp objects and scratching.

Glossy and slick, this product will wow the toughest design critics with its diversity and we love the Terrazzo effect in the kitchen as it catches light beautifully. This is a great product option if you are looking for something unique for your countertops or flooring.
