Heating Kitchen Floors and Countertops

Different Granite Samples

Many people today will install beautiful stone, ceramic, marble and granite flooring in their kitchens or homes. It will add value and luxury to your workspace for many years to come. The main drawback of these surfaces is how they conduct heat.
They Don't!
This isn't a reason to not install them though, you can easily add a temperature controlled heating pad to the undermount of your kitchen that will keep your feet warm for years to come

Electrical radiant underfloor heating is an energy star rated product, has a 25 year warranty (Most manufacturers do) and is available in a variety of square and rectangular sizes. One the greatest innovations we discovered was that you can install this same Electrical Radiant heating under your stone countertops!

Radiant Underfloor heating works by having heating mats that fit under your flooring. These heating pads are temperature controlled by a simple to use thermostat. In regards to pricing, you can do a bathroom for about $25/sq ft but because this means it is an average size bathroom, the total cost would be close to $200 for that room. Average size kitchens can be done for about $7-$9 a square foot but it is very difficult to give a square footage amount for UnderFloor Heating, so it's easier to give a cost average for a room. The price for an average kitchen is about $1100.00 An average countertop (typical sized island) will be about $200-$300 depending on the size and width.

Installation is as easy as presetting a thinset of undercoating, Laying your underheating pads and connecting them to the thermostat ( an Electrician may be required ) and then setting your flooring or countertops overtop the undermat and installing them as usual

Nuheat is the leading manufacturer of underfloor heating today. If you are looking for more information on this great home products then be sure to visit them @ www.nuheat.com
